An Address by the Director General of National Automotive Council of Nigeria (NAC), Engr.Aminu Jalai, FNSE at the Meeting with Automotive Mechatronic Service Provider  on Monday 27th August 2012 at MAN House Awolowo Road,Ikeja,Lagso.


It is my great pleasure that i address you today at this august occasion of the council meeting with automotive mechatronic service provider .this meeting is aimed at discussing the modalities for the training ,examination and certification of our mechanics using the trainers/trainees instructional manuals which the council has developed for the automotive mechatronic curriculum.I am particularly delighted that the manuals which we shall discuss today are aimed at capacity building and skills for upgrading our mechanics and technician across the nation.
This is in sync with transformational agenda of the federal republic of Nigeria aimed at job creation,employment and wealth creation.it is therefore with great joy and deep sense of fulfilment that i welcome you to this meeting.

The Automotive Mechatronic Curriculum

This curriculum is designed to equip auto mechanics and craftmen with adequate up to date knowledge and skills in the procedure of trouble shooting ,fault diagnosis,Assembly and re-assembly of ever increasing complex components of modern generation vehicles in line with the requirement of mechatronic technology.
the curriculum will enable proper education and training through apprenticeship ,an informal environment leading to efficient servicing and maintenance of our vehicles,employable of graduates,skills upgrade,poverty reduction,self reliance and thereby contributing to increase in number of commuting goods and services on our roads.

Training Modalities

The Commencement of training of mechanics using the curriculum and instructional manuals for October,2012.

The Automotive Mechatronic services provider already identified across the country would serve as training centres. the six (6) institution that benefited from the council's equipment and will also serve as a training centre for the commencement of training

1. Kaduna State Polytechnic,Kaduna
2. National Metallurgical Training Institute,Onitsha,Anambra State.
3. Rivers State Polytechnic ,Bori,Rivers State
4. Lagos State Polytchnic,Ikorodu,Lagos State
5.Federal Science and Technical College,Orozo,Abuja
6.Federal College of Education (Technical),Gombe
