The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), led by Olusegun Runsewe, yesterday declared its intention to sue the management of Cosmilla Hotel where Cynthia Osokogu was allegedly murdered by Echezona Nwabufor Okwuomo and Ezekiel Nnechuwu Olisa Eloka.
The corporation accused the management of the hotel of not complying with laid down processes and its failure to register its operation with the NTDC according to the law.
Reports say, the director of Communication of the NTDC, Akin Onipede, released a statement in Abuja saying the corporation is ready to “file formal charges against the management of Cosmilla Hotel for illegal operation since it was not registered with the corporation”.
The development which was confirmed by the director-general of the Corporation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe revealed that a formal query had been issued to the hotel to which it had replied.
“According to Otunba Runsewe, the management of the hotel has already admitted that they had not registered with the Corporation which showed that the hotel is operating illegally.”
Onipede assured the public of non-interference in the ongoing investigation into the Osokogu murder case saying the corporation will pursue its prosecution of the hoteliers independently.
“We will allow them (security agencies) to do their job after which we will go to court,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, policemen attached to the Area E Division of the Lagos State Police Command have revealed that several nude pictures of females believed to be victims of both men accused in the Osokogu murder have been recovered.
The Area E Commander, Damian Okoro said, “The pictures are contained in a recovered black Compaq 610 laptop belonging to Nwabufor Okwuomo, one of the suspects who lured the deceased to Lagos.”
He said the file contained pictures of Cynthia Osokogu and 50 other females in various stages of abuse.
According to him, some of the photographs showed girls tied with rope and their mouths covered with cello-tape with objects inserted in their private parts.
Investigations are still going on the Osokogu murder case and progress is being made with the recent arrest of another suspect who was found in possession on Cynthia Osokogu’s phone.
