Brad Pitt Chanel advert? - celebrity news

Brad Pitt's advert for Chanel No. 5 has been released today, and sees the actor, in black and white, talking to the camera. In the video a broody Brad meditates on the world and true love.
The actor, who got paid $7million to be the face of the fragrance, said in a statement:
"What's important to remember about Chanel N°5 is how revolutionary this fragrance is. When it was introduced, it broke all the rules by discarding meaningless ornamentation for an honest and open aesthetic, and a scent which embodies liberation from trend, creating a fragrance which remains as modern today as it was during it's inception. Chanel N°5 has always been the most iconic women's fragrance."
Atonement director Joe Wright shot the ad. Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou and Catherine Deneuve have all fronted the perfume in the past.

Brad Pitt has been paid $7million to star in an upcoming campaign for Chanel No.5, it has been reported.
According to industry sources, the fashion house spent around $10million to promote the famous fragrance in the United States, and a further $7million for Pitt's "services".
The actor's campaign will be unveiled on 15 October in commercial and print form.
Pitt will be the first ever male to front the iconic women's perfume.

Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou and Vanessa Paradis have all been female celebrity faces of Chanel No.5 in the past.

Andrea d'Avack, Chanel's president of fragrance and beauty, said: "To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view. It is the first time we've had a man speaking about a women's fragrance.

"We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level."

Pitt will also star in crime thriller Killing Them Softly, which is out now.
This morning Chanel released the first teaser trailer for the new campaign. Watch it below.
