Some weeks back, we shared the story of a lady who didn't want the baby. Here is another one.
The young lady walked into my hospital same week we shared the story and she was looking very confused and unhappy. I asked what was wrong with her and she replied that she is pregnant and she does not want the baby. I took her history and examined her. The scan showed that she was about 10 weeks. I actually advised her to keep the pregnancy because of the complications associated with abortion.
But,then! I asked who impregnated her and that is really what this story is all about. She started with not all good girls end up with a good story. She said she is ready to be pregnant but, but not this one. She is actually engaged but d pregnancy belongs to her ex-boyfriend.
She dated him for 8 years before they broke up about 2 years ago because of some family pressure especially when she is a Christian and being involved with a Muslim guy. She claimed that she moved on with her life and met another guy about a year ago.She has a very strong relationship with the new guy and he eventually proposed to marry her. They had their introduction and the wedding has been scheduled for the middle of this year.
About a month after the introduction, her first love returned from the blues and he came to apologize for leaving her and that he actually want to spend the rest of his life with her,no matter what. She explained the situation of things to him that she was engaged and about to get married. According to her, one thing led to another and they eventually had unprotected sex.
She missed her period few weeks after the sexual intercourse and she did a pregnancy test which came out positive. She called her first love to tell him and he did the unexpected! He said that he only came to say good bye to her because he got married the week after he came to see her and that she should get rid of the pregnancy. She did her research and confirmed that he actually had a secret wedding.
She was in shock and confused. She didn't know what to do or who to talk to. So, she decided to get rid of the baby,but, on other hand, she feels like keeping the baby and move on with her life. Though, she intends to give the baby to a motherless baby home once she delivers because she does not intend to be a part of the baby's life.
It still amazes me why a lot of people getting married still go ahead and have last minute sex with their ex-boyfriends/girlfriends all in the name of saying "good bye" . I still don't get it.
Accepted, that her first boyfriend was very unreasonable, but, should the lady not have protected herself even if she couldn't resist him? Maybe, she wanted him back
The mistake had been done already, so, no point crucifying her.The lady is reading this column as we speak and we would appreciate that you kindly advice her on what to do.
